A Birthday to Remember

This week I had a milestone birthday (I'm not saying how many years - just a milestone). My daughters, Kasey & Shelley surprised me with a day of pampering. We started at Chic-Fil-A for breakfast - can't go wrong there. Then we went to Classy Nails and Tan in Braselton for mannis & peddis.

After that, we went to the spa at Chateau Elan. They really know how to pamper you. We got robes and slippers and went to the "quiet" room where we relaxed with snacks and lemon water. My massage therapist was named Mary Elaine and she was wonderful. Twenty-five minutes of relaxation. Next, we went to the sauna followed by cold towels to cool off & cucumbers on our eyes as we relaxed in the sitting area.

We toured the winery and then went to "Tequila's" for lunch. If you haven't been to Tequila's in Braselton, you really should go. They feature Table Taps: pour-it-yourself ice-cold beer right at your table - & while I'm not a beer drinker, the atmosphere was fun & enjoyable. You are surrounded by twenty-eight 50" flat screen HDTVs where you can catch a variety of sporting events on TV including your favorite teams and Pay-Per-View special events.

My second day of pampering was when my husband and son took me to Provino's Restaurant for some Artichoke Hearts, great Italian food, yummy salad & garlic rolls!! Wow, if I get treated this way next year maybe turning _____ won't be so bad!!!!

Fear is Contagious

Great article from Monday Morning Memo:

Fear Is Contagious

I am reminded of what Michel Eyquem De Montaigne said with tongue in cheek during the French Renaissance 450 years ago, “My life has been filled with terrible misfortune; most of which never happened.”

As expected, we received a firestorm of email 2 weeks ago as a result of the Monday Morning Memo of March 2 in which I said I had chosen not to be fearful about the future. It seems that a lot of people take pleasure in fretting and they want me to get on board.

But a frightened person frightens other people. And these newly frightened people will frighten still more people until finally no one is spending any money. Fear is the fuel of recession. I understand perfectly what’s happening in the world. I simply choose not to be afraid.

You can choose, too. We are worth more than many sparrows.

Warren Buffett agrees with this outlook.

“Fear is very contagious. You can get fearful in 5 minutes, but you don’t get confident in 5 minutes.” - Warren Buffett on CNBC, Monday, March 9, 2009

KW Black & Red Ball

Thursday evening my husband & I attended our Regional Black & Red Holiday Ball. We had a fabulous time with a lovely dinner, dancing & an auction that raised money for Kares for Kids. My husband was delighted when he won the bid for a chain saw he had his eye on & I was thrilled to win an autographed copy of John Maxwell's "Leadership Gold". I was hooked on the book the moment I read the jacket cover. I haven't been able to put it down all weekend. I highly recommend the book for anyone in a leadership role.

Why is it that even the very best receive coaching?

What is coaching?

Why do real estate agents often work with Business Coaches?

There's a saying that 7% of all the agents do 93% of all the business and the rest don't have coaches. What do the top 7% know that the 93% don't know?

What they know is that coaching can help you improve your game. That’s why Keller Williams has introduced Productivity Coaching. We are so fortunate to work for a company that believes in helping our associates build careers worth having, businesses worth owning and lives worth living..
